The Big One Hundred

The next chapter for Ashdown Forest

As Winnie-the-Pooh turns one hundred in 2026, Ashdown Forest, the original Hundred Acre Wood, celebrates with a brand-new story!

Coming this summer, The Big One Hundred, created and produced by Trigger, brings together performances, events and workshops to help protect Ashdown Forest for the next hundred years.

Created by Trigger and commissioned by Ashdown Forest and Wealden District Council, this is your invitation to step into a family-friendly world of performances, workshops and outdoor adventures. Across the programme, you’ll be invited to take part, explore, and uncover the secrets of Ashdown’s remarkable wildlife — collecting Explorer Badges along the way and earning your place as an official Ashdown Explorer.

Touring

We begin the journey on 18–19 July in Ashdown Forest, where audiences can immerse themselves in nature on a special Explorer Day. Expect hands-on nature-based workshops, creative activities, and interactive encounters with a giant puppet creature inspired by endangered species found in the Forest.

Our curious creature will then set off beyond the Forest, bringing a little Ashdown magic to communities across Wealden. Look out for appearances at:

Hailsham Town Centre — 26th July

Sheffield Park and Garden — 1st August

Weald on the Field, Uckfield — 8th August

Herstmonceux Castle — 22nd–23rd August

Each stop will feature Explorer Days and special sightings, transforming towns, gardens and historic sites into moments of discovery and wonder.

Tickets for the opening weekend at Ashdown Forest go on general release at 10am on 26th May.

Wealden residents will receive priority booking from 10am on 18th May, ahead of general release.
