Take part in The Big One Hundred creative competition

To inspire the design of the Big One Hundred puppet creature, Trigger is inviting primary school-aged children (5–11) across Sussex to help imagine and design a brand-new character

This summer marks 100 years since the first Winnie-the-Pooh stories were published, inspired by Ashdown Forest, the original Hundred Acre Wood.

To celebrate, Trigger and Ashdown Forest are launching The Big One Hundred, the central feature of the celebrations will be a huge new puppet creature inspired by the Forest and the special species of animal that live there.

We’re inviting primary school children in Sussex to let their imaginations run wild and draw, collage, or describe this brand-new forest creature!

All submissions will be shared on our website gallery and entered into the competition. A judging panel will choose the winning entry, which will help inspire the design of the new puppet. The winner will also be among the first to meet the creature in person at a special event at Ashdown Forest

Submissions close at 10am on Tuesday 15 April 2026, with the winner announced in May.
