FEASTING at The Community Farm

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our spring FEASTING event on Saturday 12th April.

We enjoyed a wonderful day of food, music, dancing, and community spirit in the heart of North Somerset.

FEASTING is an event where asylum seekers, refugees, and local residents come together, relax, and build community through live music, creative workshops, and a delicious shared meal.

FEASTING is part of Trigger’s Humanity Hotel programme, which brings creative, community engagement to asylum seekers and refugees based in rural initial accommodation centres in North Somerset.

These events are made possible thanks to the incredible support we’ve received both through our recent Crowdfunder and from the National Lottery Community Fund, whose backing of the Humanity Hotel project has enabled us to continue running this vital creative programme.

At FEASTING, guests enjoyed a wholesome meal prepared by Coexist Community Kitchen, using the fresh produce grown by The Community Farm. We were treated to live traditional Moroccan music by Mohamed Errebbaa and his trio throughout the day. Local artist, Giuliana Terran, led a cyanotype workshop, which incorporated the flowers from the farm into small works of art. Finally, guests were led around The Community Farm on a guided tour, and given the opportunity to learn about their work supporting communities and growing sustainable organic food.

We wanted to say thank you again to anyone who has supported the Humanity Hotel project. Our last round of crowdfunding received generous contributions from supporters near and far, and because of your collective effort we are able to continue to hold important community events like FEASTING.

If you missed it, don’t worry! Hear from volunteers, participants, and organisers about what FEASTING meant to them in our video below.
