From April 2013

Iain Craig‘s Bellag agus Beauty is a Gaelic story brought to life by hand drawn illustration, animation and Puirt à beul music to create a short film.

Inspired by a family story, this film is currently being developed on Harris, in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland with writer Lewis Hetherington, musician Michael John McCarthy (of Zoey Van Goey), singer Hannah Beaton.

Cove Park creates residencies for national and international artists, collaborative groups and organisations. It overlooks Loch Long on the west coast of Scotland.

Thanks to Cove Park and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, Trigger have been invited to host two artist residencies this summer which will provide our collaborators with the chance to incubate new ideas.

Pioneer a new way of life

Humans are about to populate another planet and you could be a part of it.
Fuselab is an out of this world experience for 16-20 year olds in which you’ll plan the future of this as yet uninhabited world. We’re looking for 80 innovative and creative minds to help us develop a sustainable way of life, free from the constraints of the systems and structures we live by here on Earth.

Visit is a programme of performances which travel to people who find it difficult to get out and about.

Visit brings comedians, musicians and storytellers to the place where you feel the most comfortable. Curl up on the sofa and listen to music, or chuckle at a joke with your pals over a cup of tea.

As part of the Imaginate Talent Hub programme 2012 / 2013, Trigger is hosting The Art of Producing, a space to explore how to get ideas and ambitions up and running. Trigger producers will take you through the basics of producing. This is a working group exploring how to turn ideas into reality with a focus on context, frameworks, partnerships and the creative team. For artists, producers and anyone who makes creative stuff happen.

The Science Museum has teamed up with Trigger to create a weekend and late night event series about zombies and consciousness, from 30 January – 3 February 2013. ZombieLab will feature talks by scientists, philosophers and artists alongside live theatrical interventions.

A bright beacon in the dark winter months.

Heliotrope is a 12 minute audio and light experience about the seasons. It has been created by a team of artists, designers and scientists, working together to explore the impact of light on minds and bodies.

4pm to 8pm, performances every half hour
Kibble Palace, Glasgow Botanic Gardens

Tickets are free. All pre-bookable tickets have now been reserved, but there are tickets available on the door. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

International Creative Entrepreneurs is an innovative development opportunity for leaders working in the arts, screen and creative sectors.

ICE offers an intensive, fully funded programme that includes a three month placement overseas, one-to-one mentoring and action learning sessions for five of Scotland’s creative leaders and entrepreneurs.

Placements are in creative organisations or social enterprises in Australia, Brazil, China, India, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey. Each successful candidate will be offered access to the leadership team, business model and hands on project work at one of the host organisations. S/he will also be matched with a mentor or coach for the duration of the placement.

The programme is designed to meet the development needs of individual participants, with a particular emphasis on leadership and entrepreneurship.

We’re seeking applications from creative leaders across Scotland who are committed to their self development and can demonstrate a real desire to take on the challenge of working globally. Applicants should be working in the arts, screen and creative industries, be based in Scotland and able to complete a placement before the end of September 2013.

SYNC is a new two-year programme for the cultural sector in Scotland – all about prototyping and innovation in the space where culture, technology and design meet.

It’s co-produced by us at Trigger, alongside 21Awake and Beyongolia.

Between now and the end of 2013, we will be:

- hosting Culture Hack Scotland, an incredibly playful yet productive experiment to see what happens what developers and designers and cultural professionals can make together in just 24 hours.

- running a Geeks-in-Residence programme which pairs up creative technologists with forward-looking organisations to make new, valuable and stretching projects.

- publishing a bi-monthly online magazine called SYNC Tank – showcasing the freshest thinking around how digital is enabling, inspiring and changing our cultural practice and experiences.
